Let me tell you my story of Clowns, not Partners

I had recently travelled to Harare in respond to grain market needs demanded by one of the followers in one of Business Minds WhatsApp groups. This guy just make a call last month asking for my assistance with grain markets logistics. 

I had explained everything to that farmer, "i can do that, i know one or two guys who might help, how much do you need per tone ?" He replied "250 or 260/t it`s fine", " Okay sir, what if the actual price is 270 or 290, would you allow me to collect extra amount ?", "yes you can". 

After long conversations, i went on to evaluate that deal, i had realise that i could learn a lot of things through that deal, 1. get to meet with people  in my network physically (considered one of most prominant steps in the art of growing social capital), 2. Get to learn some tricks behind grain business, 3. It could increase my exposure from the comfort zone, 4. Get to increase more lessons of personal growth and experiental capital. 











As Robert Kiyosaki said, 'The interesting aspect of all betrayal is that the person who is actively betraying you often feels he or she is the one being betrayed. In other words, that person finds a way to justify betraying you. I have just exprienced that lesson on arrival in Harare. I didn`t know that my own guy was constantly looking for several agents to persue that deal. I have tried to call my own guy so as to put our product on the market, by that time, he told me that, he was facing transport challenges, i had tried to come up with different transport-logistics deals, but he denied, saying it wasn`t safe with GMB, thanks to all those attempts, i have come to understand the legal process of doing that business desipite restrictions imposed on grain transportation. 


After long negotiations with my own guy, i had given up on that deal, by that time, i was trying to understand the art of the deal for future trades. After one week, my own guy just called me, saying that he was on his way to the market, and he was waiting for me to come over and represent him at the market. I thought my big deal finally get into success, i have to spend more, from airtime, transport cost, food ect, just to make the deal possible. I was shoked to realise that my own guy was just parked at another market, which is actually different from our intended market. At arrival he informed me that, he actually tried to sell the product on that market and failed due to moisture content. So he asked me if we could proceed to initial market, he asked me if conditions were different,  i was just confused by then, why then this guy called me out here if he is capable of doing all these things alone ??


I have come up with another idea, "what if i can go out there with small grains just for a sample ?" "Okay it`s the best idea" he replied. I have tried to find a transport to the market, but i didn`t find one, i started to doubt the deal and decide to call our broker for more information than going to the market. Our broker said, with his proper connections, it doesn`t matter, she knows where to supply grains with such levels of moisture. Instead i did return back to the track to inform my own guy that we can proceed to the market. He asked me "did you reach to the market ?", i said no, i had just asked through the phone. He started asking me a lot of security questions like; are you the actual Tuta ?, i said yes i`m the one, " could you please shout your phone numbers", i did shout my phone numbers, both of them, i even showed them my mobile device with all our common groups. One the guys asked me "where were you early this year, why did you went missing online in the previous months ?", i had explained everything, " it was due to my blogging trip in Marange". They continued, you can come again tomorrow with your broker. 

My other sense told me to call my broker, she drove 20 km to the site, at arrival, they told that they are waiting for their elders to approve the deal, so that deal can proceed in the following day. They exchanged contacts in-front of me, i was finally out of the deal, with all costs and expenses uncovered. 😅😅

From all this, i only learnt  some lessons, and add more to my experiental capital, they did judge my physical appearance and told me that i wasn`t the actual Tuta they expect to meet, because i was just simple, dressed in work-suits with dust, they couldn`t like doing business with me. 

However, days after, one of participants in Building Tribes Show, called for a meet up with me in town, i went there, we discussed about the business, he didn`t undermine my physical appearance, he just appreciate my effort to come for a meeting, upto now we are in good books, and i`m happy that i`m learning entreprenuership the hard way. I`m not yet a Midas touch entreprenuer, but i`m just realising what Dolnald Trump meant when comparing entreprenuership with military training.
